Harvard's Project Zero - A Life Changing Moment
In 2015 I was selected as one of my district's top 10 teachers. This is a huge honor! My district is the 2nd largest district in the state of Georgia. As a top 10 teacher I was honored with a trip to Harvard to participate in Project Zero. It was a life changing experience. As you can see, this small town girl met "the" Howard Gardner. Can you believe it? Howard Gardner? I cannot begin to express what a genuine, humble man he is. He took the time to pose for pictures and answer questions. This picture proudly hangs in my home office as a reminder of not only my time at Harvard, but that each child is unique and deserves our very best each and every day. It is our obligation as educators to tap into their unique learning styles - their intelligences and empower them to become passionate learners.
